Alhamdulillah. Finished my 1st semester for this final year.

The realization of my thesis topic is basically done after so many days n night of thought. changes after changes.. and yet the outcome is still blur...

the topic that i chose is 'Center of contemporary art in Kuala Lumpur'. this topic came out just to follow all these requirements at the first place. i believe the topic or the building will come later along our thesis. but still they want the building first.. heh

the 1st idea for the topic came out from the mini project that we did in DATUM KL in Um. we supposed to think of what is next for KL under the theme Greater KL. so we came out with the ideas of KL Void. a place for KL society and people. an unauthorized/free space sponsored by authority. thats the whole ideas as in my understanding of greater city is not only the vast development but the people itself. 'The great city is that which has the greatest man or woman: if it be a few ragged huts, it is still the greatest city in the whole world'- Walt Whitman.

So we came out with the idea of alleyways in KL that can be transformed into this kind of place. For my thesis then i took this idea to the next level and i try to apply it in bigger scale n context. kinda messy and i struggle to think about the topic as the lecturer keep pushing us on what we want to do. so, what i did, i studied the closest project similar with what i want to achieve. n i studied Pompidou center as i believe is a successful public space in urban context.
